Quality management under the ISO/IEC 17025 framework is essential in food microbiology laboratories to ensure technical competence. The high volume of information requires Quality Management Systems (QMS) supported by Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This study presents the development and validation of SGCLAB, a management software designed for the food microbiology laboratory of FCA–UNLZ. The work was carried out in three stages: (1) development of the process map and logical structure using a hybrid model based on a decision tree; (2) incremental software development using open-source technologies under principles of confidentiality and impartiality; and (3) validation through operational checklists and automated monitoring tests. SGCLAB organizes and represents QMS documentation, reduces errors, improves traceability, and streamlines the laboratory’s operational workflow. It is intuitive and interactive platform that supports the management of a food microbiology laboratory, helping to ensure food quality and safety in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
