Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Review Articles
The Revista Alimentación y Ciencia de los Alimentos (RAYCA) is organized into thematic sections defined according to its academic and scientific areas of focus. The Academic Editors responsible for each section oversee manuscripts within their respective fields of expertise to ensure a fair, rigorous peer-review process aligned with the highest standards of scientific practice.
Review articles compile, analyze, and synthesize the most relevant information on a specific topic, with the aim of providing readers with a critical, up-to-date, and evidence-based overview grounded in previously published studies. This type of contribution should identify the current state of knowledge on the subject under review, as well as future perspectives, research gaps, and areas requiring further scientific development.

Privacy Statement
The Revista Alimentación y Ciencia de los Alimentos (RAYCA) guarantees the confidentiality of all information related to submitted manuscripts throughout every stage of the editorial process. The journal will not publicly disclose information regarding submitted, under-review, accepted, or rejected manuscripts, except when explicit authorization has been granted or when publication of the content has been formally approved.
The identity of reviewers will be kept confidential in accordance with the peer-review model adopted by the journal. Likewise, authors, reviewers, editors, and members of the Editorial Team must treat as confidential all communications, documents, review reports, manuscript versions, and any information derived from the editorial process, unless otherwise explicitly stated.
The names, email addresses, and any other personal information registered on the journal’s website will be used exclusively for the editorial, academic, administrative, and communication purposes of the publication. Such information will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes other than those established by the journal, except when required by law or when explicit authorization has been granted by the data subjects.
